Mental Health Month 2023 Apr 18, 2023

May is officially national Mental Health Month, which FBH will observe internally and through community engagement.

Every year, Mental Health America (founded in 1909) establishes a theme for the month. This year's theme is Healthy Environments.

"Look Around, Look Within" is focused on the connections between environment and health. "While we often think of environmental factors (sometimes called the 'social determinants of health') as relating largely to our physical health, it's important to consider the effect of our environment on our mental health and well-being as well," says Schroeder Stribling, president and CEO of Mental Health America. "This opens the door to consider education, economic stability, social connections, neighborhood, community infrastructure, and access to care."

Check here and on Facebook at @frontierbehavioral starting May 1 for tips on how to create healthy environments that promote mental health and wellness.
